Further details of the work of Sandover Associates and Peter Sandover.

Peter Sandover
Peter is an architect with more than 30 years’ experience in sustainable architecture, masterplanning and regeneration. Over recent years he has focussed on community planning, neighbourhood plans and community engagement strategies primarily in the westcountry.

He project managed the development of a food hub for Cornwall working with a local partnership, work included stakeholder engagement , brief, options appraisal ,and concept design. Peter led a community engagement strategy in Cornwall to engage the 40 most deprived areas of the county and develop with them an EU funded development programme.  He helps rural and urban communities produce their neighbourhood plans, completed plans include: Salcombe, Kenton, Ogwell, Stoke Fleming ,South Huish and Barne Barton(Plymouth) in Devon and South Marston in Swindon. Peter was responsible for regeneration proposals at Devonport, Bristol, Bath; Camborne; Pool; Redruth; St Austell; Liskeard, and the Isles of Scilly. He led rural masterplans in Chudleigh, Devon and Winchester, and continues to provide advice on community engagement best practice. On all his projects he sets out to demystify the development and planning process and build local confidence and capacity.

He acted as a consultant design manager to the Eden Project on past capital projects. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, a Locality neighbourhood planning champion and a member of the Cornwall Council Design Review panel.

As well as running his own practice Sandover Associates he is an associate of CAG Consultants one of the UK’s leading sustainability, climate change and community engagement consultancies. He is a former director of the international architecture and planning consultancy Llewelyn Davies primarily based in Hong Kong.

In his home town of Kingsbridge he led a regeneration strategy, and now sits in a voluntary capacity on their Neighbourhood Plan group, a Local Action Group and Coastal Communities Fund. He also sits on the South Devon AONB Partnership as a community representative and runs a network promoting the use of renewable energy throughout South Devon.
